Welcome to Zenith Photography by Kate Ybarra
I come from Yosemite National Park and hold a degree in photojournalism. My main passion is in sports photography. And my main pastime is nature photography.
Photography has taken me to friends riding dirt bikes all the way to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics. I am thankful for all the help I have gotten along the way, dedication to complete goals and the great people I have met. I look forward to what my life will become and the life’s I will touch.
I love being active in many sports and enjoy photographing people active in their sports. I wouldn’t say it’s a rush to photograph sports but more like a overwhelming feeling of life. When a climber completes a problem that had them stumped many times and finally conquers it, the feeling they have of accomplishment seems to radiate off them. It’s always good times, no matter the defeat because it gives us something to look forward to and is a constant learning situation.
Nature plays a big part in my life. If I am not close to trees, rivers, lakes and mountains I feel lost. I see photos everywhere when I take hikes, that may be why I hike so slow. I love to go out at night and shoot the sky with it's many layers on earth. There is something peaceful about being in the dark alone with my camera. And it really test my patience and my ability to look harder at what I think is an ok photo and turn into a great photograph.
